Our story

Where we came from

I established Venatrix in 2015, after seeing an opportunity in the market to focus on SDR recruitment into leading SaaS firms.

After pitching James Caan CBE, former Dragon's Den investor, and his recruitment venture capital firm, Recruitment Entrepreneur to secure funding, I'm proud we've become one of the top-performing businesses in his group portfolio.

We're passionate about investing in the future of sales professionals in the UK and have already become an exclusive partner to Sales Confidence – the UK’s largest network of SaaS sales leaders to launch the UK’s first Sales Development Representative (SDR) community.

Over the last few years, we've worked with market-leading SaaS companies like Klaviyo, Outreach & Procore to help them hire, assess, and train their salespeople. As part of this journey, we've learned a lot and have a commitment to do whatever it takes to deliver exceptional service to clients and candidates. The dedication of the team, the loyalty from our clients, and the energy and talent of our candidates make Venatrix a pleasure for me to lead.

Where we are now

Venatrix connects entrepreneurial candidates with the most exciting and disruptive tech start-ups in London.  We believe that traditional CV and historical skill-set focused identification of candidates is defunct when identifying new- to- market hires.

Our process is focused around a live virtual assessment of commercial skills and instincts tempered with candid and authentic conversations about motivations and career objectives.  This unique approach ensures candidates land the right role from both a career and a cultural perspective.

This is us celebrating at our annual portfolio awards dinner where we won the Company of the Year Award in 2019, in our wider Recruitment Entrepreneur group portfolio of 32 businesses. Employees have taken home awards like Top Biller for outstanding performances!

Our mission

We help develop the SaaS/tech sales leaders of the future.

We guarantee all our clients are introduced to well qualified, professionally vetted candidates and hence reduce the risk associated with hiring.

By supporting all of our placements with 8 module Sales Academy courses designed to not only attract high calibre candidates, but also up-skill them quickly to be more successful for the businesses they join. This maximises the earning and career development opportunity for the candidate and reduces ramp time and risk for the employer.

In all elements of our process, we're "hands-on". We meet all of our prospects face-to-face or virtually to qualify the business opportunity and help our clients run dynamic and effective recruitment processes to secure the talent they need. Once a client becomes an "account", we schedule regular meet-ups to assess how our candidates are performing, and how we can be a better partner moving forward.

Our candidates receive significant interview coaching to prepare them for client-site or virtual interviews over the 1-10 days they are typically in the job search. The 8-module training course also provides multiple touchpoints for us to keep in touch with them and their progress.

On top of all this, we actively contribute to our local tech community and are platinum sponsors of Sales Confidence, London's leading SaaS sales community, and host our own collaborations, talks, and events to add value to our candidates and clients alike.

Charity work

Across our team, we support many different charities.

Everyone in our team is passionate about what they do and the charities they support. This is why we raise money for different charities from the many events we get involved with. To celebrate International Women's Day 2020 we recently ran an event where all our ticket sales went to Bloody Good Period. They help give period products to those who can’t afford them and provide menstrual education to those less likely to access it. In 2022 we took part in the infamous “Tough Mudder” obstacle course and raised thousands of pounds for mental health charity Mind.
